You aired the tires up, or rotated them, or had a sensor replaced, and the TPMS light still won't go out. Resetting it isn't a single procedure. It depends on whether your car runs direct or indirect TPMS. Here's how to tell which you have, then clear the light for each.
First: direct or indirect?
Direct TPMS has a battery-powered sensor inside each wheel reading actual pressure. The battery lasts 5 to 7 years and is sealed in, so a dead one means a new sensor.
Indirect TPMS has no sensors at all. It watches the ABS wheel-speed sensors and flags a low tire from how fast each wheel spins (a soft tire is slightly smaller, so it turns faster). A dashboard "TPMS calibration" option or a drive-cycle instruction in the manual is a strong sign you've got indirect.
Resetting an indirect system
Set all four tires to the door-jamb pressure, cold. Then press the TPMS reset button (usually near the steering column) or open the "TPMS calibration" menu on the dash or infotainment screen.
Then drive. Recalibration finishes after roughly 10 to 30 minutes of normal driving. Some vehicles, certain Hondas among them, complete after about 30 minutes of cumulative driving in the 30-to-65 mph range.

Resetting a direct system
Direct systems use one of three relearn methods. Auto relearn: set the pressures, drive, and the car relearns on its own. Stationary relearn: a TPMS tool wakes each sensor while the car sits in learn mode. OBD relearn: a scan tool writes the sensor IDs through the OBD port.
