R1T also offers 21-inch road (275/55R21) and 22-inch sport (275/50R22) wheel packages — confirm the exact tire size on your build sheet or door placard, since Rivian has offered multiple wheel/tire packages across trims.
Note: the Rivian OEM tire on the 20-inch All-Terrain wheel is the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus (ELECT) in 275/65R20 — a passenger/Euro-metric extra-load tire, not true LT-metric. It was co-developed with Rivian and carries specific load ratings for the R1T's weight.
EV-specific R1T requirements
Load rating is critical: the R1T weighs 6,900–7,100 lbs. Every tire must be rated for this load. The factory tire itself is a passenger-metric, extra-load (XL) construction rather than true LT-metric — whatever you run needs a load index that meets or exceeds the OEM Pirelli spec.
Range impact: aggressive A/T tires with high rolling resistance can cut the R1T's rated range by 5–15%. The OEM Pirelli AT+ is optimized to balance off-road capability with acceptable rolling resistance.
